These are a few questions we’re going to provide answers to as we discuss China-USA rivalry in the Middle East and what it means for the future of the global economy & geopolitics.

Democracy is not the US patent, China said. China said there are many ways to do democracy, and the US democracy is not the only way. That a very bad democracy and not working very well. Politicians are working for rich capitalist, that is not real democracy. wo parties put out two candidates only. That is not democracy. If you have money you can hold political office. That's not democracy.

Countries neighbouring china getting developed and richer, while countries neighbouring US remain poor.
The Geopolitics In Conflict Show
There is certainly a disconnect!!!
If its serves as a reminder, the US regime had always have a Beggar thy Neighbour foreign policy. Keep that in mind whenever you talk about US foreign policy.

Who would have thought that building and developing, mutual respect and not lecturing and chastising countries would prove a successful policy. Let along throwing around sanctions and bombs if they don't immediately agree.

You got a point there , Mark!!!

China's participation in Afghanistan, based on their approach of win-win for Afghans and the Chinese, will be successful because what they seek is mutual respect, trade and benefit for the people of the two nations. Geopolitical influence comes naturally when a country seeks to prosper another and not subjugate it.

The renminbi is already being used by business people in Southeast Asia. Anybody buying and selling through Alibaba and all those other Chinese marketing platforms will use the renminbi for all transactions.

Vietnam is an interesting one. The country's development has been unremarkable but solid. Politically similar to China but due to historical rivalry, conflict some latent hostility and suspicion exists from the Vietnamese population toward China. This was what I sensed from my travels there. I'm sure the US would be trying to use its 'soft power' to amplify any dislike and capitalise on it. I wonder, do the NED or other US State Department funded influence organisations operate in Vietnam? This may warrant further discussion. Great show as always. Cheers.

Throughout the 5,000 years of Chinese history, no dynasty was able to sustain long by terrorising its population.

Vietnam is still demanding compensation for Agent Orange, which the US has been refusing. A lot of Vietnamese still remember this, and a lot of Vietnamese are still suffering from its effects. The US also has refused to help in removing the land mines it has placed in Vietnam, many of which are still live.

China's economy is on cruise control. They don't need to work so hard on that. However what China is doing right now is killing the dollar by continue with their win win deal. The more country they trade in with the more alliance they build. I can see the USA influence to keep on shrinking in the next coming years unless they change their approach.

Singapore is not a democracy...it is a "limited democracy" but at least it works on meritocracy and is successful. Like China, the party running the country has never changed.

China has put the Saudis and Iranians together to speak again and I belief the Houthis have been told by the Iranians to stop shooting missiles into Saudi refineries. I belief partly one reason the Patriot and Thaad missiles and troops were pulled out of Saudi Arabia cos it's not happy with the Saudi govt and the new Saudi communication with the Iranians.

Looking at Afghanistan with hindsight, it appears that the US has spent 20 years and almost $3 trillion preparing Afghanistan for China to move in. This is what happens when you don't know what you are doing.

Hello David, you have said the US have moved its THADD and Patriot batteries away from Middle East because they are useless in defending the Russian S400. You seems to imply that these batteries have been moved to the Far East, does it mean that China still don't have the equivalent S400 to render US' THAAD and Patriot useless?

The China-Russia partnership in international diplomacy reminds me of the France-Germany partnership before the USSR collapse. France was the political negotiator and Germany was the economic backer. They did well in those days to protect western Europe's international economic interests against the US hegemonic forces. Russia has the political/military clout so it is a win-win partnership for them to have China as their strong economic backer in their fight against the new US hegemonic strategies.
